Lamborghini Veneno : Worth IT?

If you have an extra $4.5 million dollars to spend and want the coolest car on the road, then the Lamborghini Veneno is the car for you. The company first introduced this car to the public in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Unfortunately for the big spenders in attendance, the cars at the show already had owners who weren’t ready to sell their coveted beauties. The good news is, that the new Lamborghini Veneno roadsters will drive off the assembly line next year, but only 9 of them.

So what makes this expensive car so unique and why would anyone pay $4.5 million dollars for it? Well for starters, it’s amazing to look at. At first glance, the Veneno looks like a convertible. It is not a convertible however, it actually has no top at all. A roll bar protect passengers instead.

But wait, there’s more. The Veneno has 740-horsepower and a 6.5-liter V-12 engine that is also featured in the Aventador. It from zero to 62 miles an hour in just 2.9 seconds and tops out at 221 miles per hour.
The car will be available in any color the buyer wants and the body is made from almost entirely from carbon fiber-reinforced polymers. The seats are even made from a woven carbon fiber fabric. The company says that the color “Rosso Veneno” was specially developed for the car and won’t be carried over to other models in the range.

If you are looking for a fuel efficient car that is safe for the environment, the Veneno Roadster is not for you. If you are ready to drop some big bucks on a car that is a monster on the road, then you better be one of the first in line when this babies go on sale in 2014. They will likely go fast!

The First Curved Smartphone : Samsung Galaxy Round

Samsung has brought the much hyped curved OLED technology into the phones, which was previously available only in High End Curved Televisions. The tech-specs of ROUND are identical to NOTE III which makes it all the more desirable. It comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p display and a leather-style back panel. Stylistically, the only major difference is that the screen is curved.

However, the Galaxy Round also comes with a number of features that take advantage of its – for the time being – unique shape. The new features are part of what Samsung has termed “round interaction” technology. Examples of the new functionality include the ability to tilt the smartphone to see notifications such as missed calls and texts.

Internally, the phone comes with a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera and a two megapixel front-facing one. It also comes with a 2800mAh battery, LTE-A support and Android 4.3.

Hybrid Theory : HP ChromeBook

You mix up a laptop,a tablet and a smartphone...the outcome would be the new Chromebook 11. Hewlett-Packard's new Chromebook 11 is a laptop at heart, but it's light and portable enough to work well in places where you'd normally prefer a tablet.

I'm thinking cramped buses and airplanes, the waiting area of a doctor's office or even the cushiony couch in your living room. The Chromebook is small enough to rest comfortably on your lap and easy to carry when you need to pick up and go.

The charger alone is a great feature. Instead of a proprietary charger like most laptops, the new HP uses a MicroUSB cable to charge, just like all Android phones and most other phones and tables . That means you don’t need to carry a separate charger for your Chromebook and your phone and it also means that it’s cheap and easy to find a replacement if you leave your charger at home.

The new screen is bright and easy on the eyes and is viewable from 176 degrees, so you don’t have to be sitting directly in front of it.  Google says you’ll get 6 hours of battery life.Although it comes with a tiny amount of storage Google offers 100 GB of free Google drive storage for two years and gives you 12 free GoGo Inflight sessions to use the Chromebook while aloft.

The device has two USB ports. Unfotunately there is no SD card reader and the only way to hook it up to an HDMI TV or monitor is with a special cable.
The Chromebook is plastic but has a magnesium frame for stability and strength. The one Google loaned me is white and is reminiscent of the old White Apple MacBooks.

On its website, Google promotes the HP Chromebook “for everyone,” but it’s not for everyone.  A lot of people need to use a Windows or Mac PC because they need the software that only a full fledged laptop can run. But, for many people, the Chromebook might be all they need, at least in a portable device. If they don’t need desktop software but mostly want to surf the web, watch streaming video, do their email and use web apps, than the Chromebook might be all they need.

But even for those of us who need a full featured laptop, a $279 investment in a Chromebook like this might make sense. I’m tempted to use mine around the house, in the living room and even on trips as an adjunct to my desktop and laptop.

STEAM CONTROLLER : A Vision Beyond!

Valve has revealed the final cog in its plan to expand the Steam Universe- a brand-new controller designed for PC gaming that may just be the most significant development for the future of PC gaming. Branded the ‘Steam Controller’, the new input device appears similar to a console controller but has a much different method of operation that involves the use of two touchpads and a touchscreen.

According to Valve, the controller has been designed to replicate the precision and operation afforded by a keyboard+mouse combination, still the preferred choice of input for most PC gamers. However, keeping in mind its plan to expand Steam (and PC gaming) into the living room, Valve designed the new controller to serve as an alternative to those orthodox PC controllers while still trying to emulate the portability and comfort of the Xbox and Playstation controllers.

The principal elements of the new controller are two circular trackpads that a user controls with his/her thumbs. The trackpads are also clickable and can therefore be used as a button as well. Valve says that the fidelity offered by the trackpads are higher than regular controllers and closer to the ultimate gaming tool- the desktop mouse. Valve further says that in order to get around the “non-physicality” of the trackpads, the controller employs electro-magnets to deliver accurate haptic feedback rather than just the vibration (or “rumble”) that controllers offer today.

Valve has also added a squarish touchscreen at the centre of the controller, which itself is also clickable and actually requires to be clicked in order to perform an action. As a result, gamers can scroll through available actions on the touchscreen before clicking on it to select one option.

Valve says that the Steam Controller will support all games ever released on Steam (which could be translated as almost all modern games released on the PC) and will do so by ‘tricking’ those games into believing that the player is using a keyboard+mouse when, in fact, the controller is plugged in.

Valve expects the new hardware to hit stores in 2014 and we can’t wait to see how, if it does, change PC gaming for the future.

KTM Super Duke 1290 : Hot as Hell.

It was just last year that KTM gave us a glimpse of the beast and now there has been some more teasing from the Austrian's.The adrenaline pumping video is out and the microsite has revealed the tech-specs.

The design is a typical Duke inspired, naked look. You get to admire the curves in the crude form.Talking about the insides the engine is a 1301cc V-twin powerhouse placed at 75-degrees,which produces a massive 180BHP of power at 8870rpm.

Prepare to drop your jaws.....because 100kmph is just a cakewalk, this beasts clocks 200kmph in just 7.2secs.That's right, its even faster than a Lamborghini and to add more KTM claims to have a top speed of 280kmph. Add in the 18-liter (4.75nus gal) tank and the 189 kg (417 lbs) weight without fuel.

However it not just about the performance, but the safety too.KTM packs a 1290 Brembo M50 Calipers with 320 mm discs. There is a Supermoto mode which disables the ABS at the rear which lets you back it into corners. Other riding modes include Sport and Rain.

This jet fighter on two wheels also gets a slipper clutch, ride-by-wire and traction control. My particular favorite is the information cluster, which matches the color of the bike.Looks beautiful and compliments the tone of the bike.
